It almost feels as though I can hear a collective sigh, assuring all of us that we have made it through the holiday season. Now, we prepare to move into February and before we know it, winter will once again be over. Tulips will bloom, grass will grow, and hopefully we'll all find a bit of time to play outdoors.
Of course, just because it's winter doesn't mean life outside has to shut down. In fact, there have been some truly fantastic winter days, permitting activities generally reserved for warmer weather. To that end, my mind is already wandering into the sights, sounds and smells of summer.
For me, I love the long days of sunlight and the warmth that comes with the summer season. It also has me thinking about bright colors, animals and outdoor activities. My hope is to explore some of these thoughts in the form of clay in the coming months.
Also, coming this spring, I will be joining the EBCA (East Boulder County Artists) during their studio tour. If you've wanted to check out what I've been working on, or just take a peek at my work space, this will be a perfect opportunity to do so. Save the date: April 28-29, from 11a-5p each day. There will be several artists opening up their studio spaces and sharing work during this time, so get ready for a fun weekend of enjoying what this great group has been creating.
Have those sunglasses and sunscreen ready to go -- summer will be here before we know it! What are you most looking forward to with the warmer days ahead?
