This has been an interesting and often challenging year for many of us, and as we enter into the holiday season, it becomes even more taxing on our emotional well-being, knowing that we have to keep apart from friends and family in order to keep us all safe and healthy. I have no doubt we all hold on to the desire for 2021 to be a better year, and for makers and artists, we all hope to have more markets, fairs and exhibits where we will be able to share our work in person.
Although in-person events have been extremely limited, I wanted to pass along a couple of opportunities to buy locally from artisans/artists this season.
The first event is a virtual version of the Handmade Holiday Market that normally takes place at the fairgrounds here in Longmont. Although the event will not be in-person this year, there is a website set up to shop virtually from local makers. You can find the link here.
The second event is a physical location, scheduled to take place December 5-6 at 947 Kimbark St, Longmont (postcard is below). With the raised COVID level of protection going to red, the event is still planned; however, please know that there will be limitations for individuals visiting (and artists will be limiting their time in the building as well). Masks will need to be worn at all times and the number of people at any one time will be limited, as the venue is not large. There are approximately a dozen artists scheduled to have pieces at the event space at various points over the weekend, including jewelers, potters, glass work, and more. Know that the event coordinators want to keep everyone safe, but if you like to see work in-person, this will be one opportunity to do so before the end of the year.
I have also updated my website to include prices and a means of purchasing (there are still some items missing measurements and prices, but I should have info updated by the end of the weekend). I am continuing to put up new pieces as they become available, so please do check back if you are looking for holiday-specific pieces or other items for yourself or as gifts. As always, if you would like additional information, measurements, or you have questions, please feel free to email me at any time. I am currently unable to ship most of my pieces, but am happy to deliver within a reasonable range of Longmont, or we can arrange a pick-up time, if that is more convenient.
Wishing you the brightest and warmest holiday season! Thank you for your continued support of local makers.
Happy Holidays!!!
